Description:
The Moody 29, designed by Angus Primrose is considered a fast cruising yacht with exceptional and predicatable handling under both power and sail. Accommodation is 6/7 berth in two cabins with separate heads and wash basin. There is ample stowage throughout, and the spacious cockpit provides plenty of space for sailing and socialising. The galley is fitted with a coolbox built into the cabinetry and sowage for cutlery & plates etc. The two burner cooker/grill is gimble-mounted and can be locked into position. A folding shelf has also been fitted allowing more space while preparing food. The forward double cabin has an opening hatch above the double bunk with generous stowage under and shelving above. The main saloon seating converts to a double bunk on the starboard side with a single to port. At the aft end (to starboard) is a pilot quarterberth which is spacious for one or cozy for two! The saloon table folds away to the bulkhead leaving a spacious, uncluttered area. On deck, the foredeck provides a safe area for sail handling and anchoring, and her wide side decks are easy to navigate. ‘Sheikha’ is a well-preserved example of a Moody 29. Despite the ability to sleep seven, she has provided safe, comfortable cruising both single and double handed. She then becomes a spacious sailing yacht which appears much larger than her 29’. ‘Sheikha’ was lightly raced on the River Deben by her previous owners. This is reflected in the sail wardrobe. The age of the sails is unknown, however will provide many years of future use. The mainsail cover was replaced in 2021, and the sprayhood and dodgers were re-stitched at the same time. The Nanni engine was replaced some time ago. It shows no oil or coolant leaks and starts first time, every time. ‘Sheikha’ is very much ready to go.

Nanni 3.75HE, 22hp diesel. Last serviced: April 2023. Fuel capacity: 70 litres. Range under power: 200+ NM. Drive type: shaft with rope cutter. Three batteries (2 domestic & 1 cranking) charged from the engine via a Sterling 4 step alternator feeding a Vetus split charge relay. Shore power. Numax 240v, 20A twin output battery charger. 20 watt solar panel.
