Built in around 1982. GRP construction with black topsides, white superstructure, encapsulated keel, aft self draining cockpit, transom hung rudder, 2 berth interior, gaff cutter rig.

Oysterman 16, designed by Canadian Paul Gartside, along the general lines of a Falmouth sailing oyster dredger, the Oysterman 16 is a small GRP gaff cutter, with 2 berth cabin. Powered by LMC electric inboard.
MECHANICAL
LMC Yellowtail 2.5kw electric inboard marine drive (2011). Shaft drive to 3 blade fixed propeller. New bush assembly 2022. Throttle control.
ELECTRICAL
LMC 3.5hp electric motor powered by 2 x specialist 12v batteries and 2 x solar panels (batteries and solar panels new approx 2021) with charge controller.
SAFETY
Manual bilge pump.
DECK GEAR
Anchor with chain, boat hook, mooring warps and fenders. Wooden beaching legs.
SAILS
White mainsail, tan No 1 jib on furler, white staysail and tan topsail. All sails good, new around 2004. Varnished wooden spars (stripped and varnished recently), stainless steel standing rigging.
DOMESTIC
2 berths with blue fabric upholstery.

COMMENTS
"Sawan" is a really attractive GRP gaff cutter built along the lines of a Falmouth Working Boat. She has a LMC electric inboard which is almost silent when running and 2 large batteries.
