Description:
"Hermitage has been in our family for almost 13 years and has made many happy memories for us all. My mum and stepdad purchased the boat in 2009, and had her moored on the River Wey in Guildford. They frequently used her for leisure holidays where they took her on the Thames Ring up to Oxford, and along the Union Canal. In 2017, my partner and I purchased the boat off my parents and made it our home. For 2 years we lived on the Thames in Staines, Middlesex. We loved every moment on the boat, and cherished putting our own stamp on her. One of the first things my partner did was hand paint the front doors of the boat in her own style. In late 2019, we decided to move to Kent and we took the boat with us on the back of a flatbed arctic lorry where she was then placed on hardstanding in Sandwich. Here we took the time to renovate her inside; fitting new kitchen counters and sink, stripping out the bathroom and turning it into a wet room with a sea toilet, and refiguring the bedroom completely. We also re-blacked the hull ourselves, and sanded, primed and painted the outside, as well as adding the front detailing by hand too. Having lived on the boat for 4 years, it is sad to sell her. However, when we found out we were having our first child, we realised it was time to start a life on land again. We hope that whoever buys the boat enjoys her as much as we have done, and acknowledges the amount of love we have put into her- and are also inspired to put their own stamp on her."
